Introduction

This report presents the findings of the second phase of FRA’s fieldwork research on child-friendly justice.

Children were interviewed on their perspectives on, and experiences with, being involved in judicial proceedings in nine EU Member States, acknowledging the child’s right to participate in research and decision-making in all relevant fields.

The goal was to conduct research on children but also with them and for them, and through different perspectives and experiences to gain a comprehensive understanding of how children are treated in judicial proceedings, taking a holistic approach.
