Professionals & Practitioners

Hub na nÓg can offer support, guidance and training to professionals and practitioners working with children and young people.

We can support you in including the voices of children and young people in your work

Hub na nÓg can help professionals and practitioners working in all areas relevant to children and young people to incorporate their voices in decisions that affect their lives. Practitioners were a key stakeholder group in the creation of the Participation Framework; for the development of the Everyday Spaces checklist, for example, Hub na nÓg conducted focus groups with early learning and care and school aged childcare practitioners, primary school teachers, secondary school teachers, social workers and family support workers, youth workers, paediatric nurses and Garda Juvenile Liaison Officers. Here you can find the checklist, the Framework, other resources, and information on training and mentorship

Our Voices Our Schools

This is the outcome of a decision made by Comhairle na nÓg National Executive 2016/17 to focus specifically on equality in the school setting. Two key actions resulted: Our Voices, Our Schools and #TeachMeAsMe. This resource is focused on a rights-based approach to involving children and young people in decision-making and is underpinned by Lundy’s Model of Participation.
