Introduction
For Save the Children, it is very important that all children in the world are safe and able to live a life without any kind of hurt or violence. For this reason Save the Children has been an important partner in the United Nations Secretary-General’s Study on Violence against Children.
The Study looked at how children and young people face violence all over the world and what can be done to stop it. Save the Children also believes that children and young people can help to keep themselves and others safe. This can happen better when you know enough about violence. That is why we have written this book, especially for those of you between 7-12 years of age. As you read on you will learn many things about violence and also what you can do to protect yourself and other children.
